Registering Your Domain Name(s)

A domain name is your internet identity. It is the website address, or URL, that a user uses to access your website. A domain name can be any name followed by a .com, .net, or other extension. CogniLogic's domain name is "www.CogniLogic.net". The "www" stands for World Wide Web; however,"CogniLogic.net" is the actual website domain name.

A domain name must point to a specific website server in order for it to pop-up in a persons website browser when they type the address; therefore, the domain name must have a home for it to live, i.e, a server that allows public viewing of website html files, such as a CogniLogic server. So, not only must you register a domain name, but you have to point it somewhere. This is where CogniLogic comes in. We will register your domain name(s) and point the domain to our server. You are still the registrant and have full access to the domain name. Another words, you are the owner of your domain name, not CogniLogic. We merely maintain the registration for you so you do not have to concern yourself with making sure the domain stays secure and functional.

Please note that you don't have to register a domain name through CogniLogic in order for your website to exist publicly on the CogniLogic server. This is not only true for CogniLogic's hosting services, but true for any hosting service you will find anywhere.

This delay is not due to CogniLogic's response time, but due to the response time of the current domain name provider; however, once you have received a CogniLogic approval response letter, your domain name is secure and no one may take it from you, regardless of how long it takes to finalize the entire process.
